Welcome to Andrea's Table! I’m Andrea Giuseppe Ruszel, a private chef based in London, passionate about crafting unforgettable culinary experiences inspired by my Sicilian roots and the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean. Growing up in a family where food was the heart of everything—my father a chef, my mother an expert in gastronomy, and my grandmother Nunzia—I developed a deep love for authentic Italo-Sicilian cuisine. To me, food is more than just nourishment; it’s a way to connect people, tell stories, and create lasting memories.

MY JOURNEY

Born in 2000 in the charming village of Piazza Armerina in Sicily, my culinary journey started early. At five, I made my first pizza; at seven, I cooked pasta with wild fennel alongside my grandmother; and by eleven, I was already working in my family’s restaurant. It was there, among the flavours of Sicily, that I realised my dream of becoming a chef.

​​​​​​​​​​​​After studying at the Federico Il Institute in Enna, I further honed my skills in northern Italy, working in some of the country’s most renowned kitchens, including Albereta Relais & Châteaux and the two-Michelin-starred Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. My time there taught me that technique and a deep understanding of ingredients are key to creating excellent dishes.

In 2021, I moved to London, eager to learn English and explore the world of global ethnic cuisines. That same year, I had the honour of representing Sicily on the TV show Cuochi d'Italia Under 30, where I brought the flavours of my homeland to the finals. I also presented my own recipe at "E Sempre Mezzogiorno" on Rai 1.

Returning to the UK, I launched a culinary segment on London ONE Radio, Ascoltaci con Gusto, where I share recipes in a radio-visual format. Recently, I was named “The Best Italian Chef” in London, a recognition I cherish as I continue to stay true to my Sicilian roots while embracing the diversity of global flavours.

Whether hosting a private dinner, leading a cooking masterclass, or curating a bespoke event, my mission is to make every experience personal and memorable. From carefully crafted menus to elegant presentations, I aim to create something special that celebrates the essence of Italian cuisine.
